I get this question a lot, what does KOR Results stand for?
Why did you call your podcast OCD Whisperer?
Let me tell you.
I was sitting with my friend one day over dinner a few years ago and we were trying to come up with a name. She said why don’t you play with the letters in your own name and you can then also focus on what is your outcome. Do you want to help people get results? And I came alive and said YES, that’s it! Results has to be in the name! So as we wrote out my full name Kristina Orlova and started to play with it, she discovered KOR – like a play on words to have core results! And so the name was born.
Now the podcast name. I was working with a family and the mom and her daughter who was let’s say around 12 were having a hard time and when I was working with the daughter while also training the mom how to work with her daughters OCD, she saw that her daughter started to improve and she didn’t think it was possible. When we finished the training (this was in California during actual live 1:1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (and Exposure Response Prevention work ) she got teary eyed and said “You are like the OCD Whisperer.”
